Abstract
An introductory survey, written by the editor and updated through 1988, discusses Supreme Court and lower court decisions relating to criminal procedure issues arising from the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments as well as pretrial proceedings, guilty pleas, juries, evidence, sentencing, and appeals and habeas corpus. The remainder of the volume consists of 14 articles, reprinted from law reviews, dealing with an accused's constitutional rights and remedies, trial issues, habeas corpus, and attorney professional responsibility. Supreme Court cases as well as lower court rulings are discussed in the articles, which were selected by the editor from among several hundred dealing with criminal law and procedure for their timeliness, significance, and clear expression. Original page numbers are given for the law review articles reprinted in the volume.
