The conference, held on December 14, 1987 in Washington, D.C., was sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith and the Leon and Marilyn Klinghoffer Foundation of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, in cooperation with the Institute for Studies in International Terrorism at the State University of New York (SUNY) and the U.S. Global Strategy Council. It was chaired by Professor Yonah Alexander of the State University of New York and The George Washington University. The author, chief of the counterterrorism section of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), comments on terrorism in the United States, and how the FBI views terrorism as well as issues of terrorism against U.S. citizens abroad.
