Abstract
Tips for the family at home include restricting the possession of house keys and arranging for an unlisted telephone number. Suspicious activities such as inquiries about the whereabouts or activities of family members should be reported to the U.S. Marshals Service and/or local police. When going out, high risk areas should be avoided and movements varied so as not to be predictable. Children should not be left alone or unattended. Suspicious characteristics to look for in packages or mail include no return address, abnormal or unusual size, or a peculiar odor. Residential security precautions include good lighting, alarm and intercom systems, and one way peep-holes in doors. Vehicles should always be in good repair and always locked. The mode of commercial transportation should be varied, and, if possible, the route should be specified for a taxi to follow. Travel arrangements should not be arranged under title or office address.
