This article outlines the 14 major tracks that will be provided at the 120th Congress of Correction.
Abstract
"Corrections' Response to the Drug Crisis" will discuss strategies for addressing the Nation's substance abuse crisis and define corrections' role in responding to the crisis. "New Innovations and Technologies" will explore nontraditional public and private means for addressing corrections problems, and "Informed, Sensitive Public Policies" will examine ways to develop public policies more systematically and effectively. "Human Resources: the Key to Progress in the '90's" will explore ways for corrections professionals to meet the challenges of the '90's through strong human resources. The focus in "Women in Corrections" will be on issues of women professionals in various positions and types of correctional agencies. "A Proactive Approach to Juvenile Corrections" will explore pertinent policy, legislation, leadership, and program development. Other tracks pertain to probation and parole, legal issues, local adult corrections, corrections and the larger criminal justice system, adult institutions, community corrections, international corrections, and standards and accreditation.
