The 16th annual report of the National Center for Juvenile Justice lists current and past projects, selected publications, and the Center's organization and funding.
Abstract
The Technical Assistance to the Juvenile Court project provides relatively low-cost technical assistance to improve court operations. A 2-year Juvenile Probation Officers' Curriculum will test the adaptability of a model curriculum for training entry-level juvenile probation officers. Other projects focus on improving the utility of management information for court administration, substance abuse screening, family violence, and automated juvenile law and juvenile court data archives. Studies have been conducted to examine the growth in minority detentions attributable to drug violators, juvenile court property cases, and runaways in juvenile courts. Another area of Center emphasis is the establishment of design guidelines for juvenile and family court facilities. 1 figure.
