Although it lacks a comparative schema based on a world-systems analysis or dependency model coupled with human rights concerns, critical criminology is Canada is only a "first world" criminology. Within the problematic of the concepts of reproduction, or production, of the State, and of transformation, the crucial concerns of critical criminology are re-identified. The concepts' relevance to a comparative criminology is underlined by critiquing north and western critical criminology as represented by the members of the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
