In light of the failure of the War on Drugs, the Bush administration is trying to implement new policies to reduce supply and demand of cocaine. Using published information and field work data on Peru, the largest cocaine-producing country, this paper argues that the boom of cocaine production is the result of North-South politicoeconomic relations.
Abstract
