This issue contains information on the activities of the United Nations (UN) regarding crime prevention and criminal justice projects at the interregional, regional, and international levels.
Abstract
In a 3-part format, the issue summarizes technical-cooperation activities, activities of UN interregional and regional institutes, and activities of the network of government-appointed national correspondents in the field of crime prevention and control. Technical assistance is provided by the UN Office in Vienna to government agencies as well as intergovernment and non-government organizations to control transnational crime, to improve criminal justice planning and management, to implement human rights, to administer justice, and to prevent delinquency. Services provided upon request include advisory and consultant services, project formulation, training programs in criminal law, criminal justice statistics, law enforcement, rehabilitation of offenders, victims of crime, and juvenile justices. Procedures for applying for technical cooperation are listed.
