Statistical tables for the State of Washington depict the population of adult correctional institutions and those on work release and show the number of admissions to and releases from prison for fiscal year 1990.
Abstract
Data cover the average daily population and rated capacity by month, the racial and Hispanic distribution of resident inmates, offense and violent crime conviction distributions, age distribution, and distribution by sentencing authority. Prison admission data give admissions by month and type, county of conviction, age at admission, race and sex, sentencing authority, and offense. Prison release data are tabulated by type of release and month, race and Hispanic origin of releasees, length of stay by admission category and offense, releases by sentencing authority, and releases by sex. The average daily adult population varied from 6,512 to 7,519 over the 12-month period. The work release segment of the total adult population varied between 630 and 841. A glossary is included.
