Abstract
A state-by-state listing includes the date of construction, rated capacity, sheriff or police chief, address, and telephone number of each facility. Other sections list the officers, staff members, associate members, and State chapters of the American Jail Association; specific types of correctional facilities such as direct supervision jails, privately operated jails, and military confinement facilities; and State jail inspection officials and programs. Other sections list sheriffs and administrators alphabetically, discuss the status of jail inmate drug treatment, and list jails and jail systems by rated capacity.
