This supplement to the second edition of "Criminal Procedure: An Analysis of Cases and Concepts" covers all terms of the U.S. Supreme Court from October 1986 through July 1991. The majority and minority opinions of each Court decision are presented. Court decisions that involved fourth amendment issues concern the exclusionary rule, the law of arrest, a framework for analyzing when "searches" occur and when they are reasonable, the search warrant and probable cause requirements, search incident to a lawful arrest, stop and frisk, consent searches, and the plain-view doctrine. Cases dealing with regulatory inspections and searches as well as electronic surveillance are also covered. Other Court decisions pertain to the privilege against self-incrimination, entrapment, the pretrial process, adjudication of guilt, the role of the lawyer, and the relationship between the Federal and State courts in dealing with habeas corpus.
