The State had 22,157 paroles under supervision in 1990, and they earned $61 million. Thirty-two percent were under supervision for 10-12 months; 14 percent from 7-9 months; 23 percent for 4-6 months; and 31 percent for 3 months or less. Thirty-nine percent were employed; 41 percent were unemployed throughout the year; and 20 percent were unemployable due to being missing or in custody, in school, engaged in homemaking, or incapacitated.
