Abstract
Open prisons in Denmark include Horseroad State Prison, Gribskov State Prison, Jyderup State Prison, Sobysogaard State Prison, Renbaek State Prison, Mogelkaer State Prison, Norre Snede State Prison, Sonder Omme State Prison, Kaershovedgard State Prison, and Kragskovhede State Prison. Each entry in the report includes a brief background description and information on prison capacity, distribution criteria, clientele, staff, education, occupation, and special inmate programs. The country's closed prisons include Copenhagen Prisons, Vridsloselille State Prison, the Institution at Herstedvester, Nyborg State Prison, Ringe State Prison, and Horsens State Prison. General characteristics of Denmark's local jails are also described.
