This book lists 1,705 grants of $10,000 or more made by 371 foundations mostly in 1989 or 1990. Abstract
Grants are arranged alphabetically by State, then foundation name, and recipient name within each foundation listing. For each grant, the following information is supplied: name, city, and State location (or foreign country) of the recipient organization; the amount awarded; the year of grant authorization; and a description of the activity funded. Access to grant listings is through three indexes: an index of recipient names, a geographic index, and an index of subject words. Statistical tables provide information on dollar amount and number of grants according to the following breakdowns: foundation name; recipient State (or foreign country); primary subject; type of support (capital, general, research, etc.); recipient type; and population group served. Additionally, a list of the top 15 recipients by highest grant dollar amount and a list of the top 25 foundations that award grants in this subject are included with the statistics. A list of foundation addresses and geographic limitations is included.
