The glue is poured directly over the dusted latent print in sufficient quantity to cover the entire print. The glue is spread lightly with a small, soft paint brush and dried using a portable, heated air blower at a distance of about 4 to 10 inches from the latent print. Two lifting procedures are recommended, depending on the thickness of the applied glue: (1) with thick-layered glue, the glue is peeled from the surface as with any type of lifter, placed on backing material, and secured with fingerprint lifting tape; and (2) with thin-layered glue where peeling is usually not possible, fingerprint lifting tape is placed directly over the dried glue and then lifted off the surface. The Guam Police Department Crime Laboratory is currently using this technique to recover latent prints developed on rough surfaces. 10 figures
