Judicial and managerial leadership is the crucial element in promoting quality performance, productivity, and effectiveness in the nation's courts in the 1990's and beyond.
Abstract
In this period of cutback management, downsizing, and cost containment in the public sector, strategic projections have received increasing attention. The political, social, and economic circumstances all point to the need for people who can lead, manage, and create with dignity, sensitivity, and integrity on the local, State, and Federal levels. Therefore, it is essential that people who work in the courts re-invent them. A central requirement for accomplishing this goal is the re-invention of a leadership style that integrates both rationality and feelings and is based on a judicial system that will continue to take the lead in effectively nurturing the foundations of constitutional democracy.
