This annual report of the Louisiana Supreme Court includes both narrative and statistical sections.
Abstract
The narrative section describes the activities of the Judicial Council in 1991 including requests for and creation of new judgeships, Judicial Planning Committee reports and surveys, and consideration of jury standards and the role of women in the courts. The Council is currently studying the problem of backlog in the Courts of Appeal, First and Third Circuits. The Judicial Administrator, the Law Library of Louisiana, the Louisiana Judicial College, and the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana all submitted annual reports. The report includes rosters of judges and clerks for the Courts of Appeal, District Courts, and City and Parish Courts. The statistical section covers 3-year activity trends and 1991 caseload figures for the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeals, District Courts, Family and Juvenile Courts, and City and Parish courts.
