Establishing that the policy on crime prevention in the Netherlands over the past 6 years has been successful, the discussion focuses on the need to broaden prevention policy by networking with other governmental and social organizations.
Abstract
The article outlines the importance of engaging private enterprises in crime prevention and consequences for network building and emphasizes the need to broaden the prevention approach to forms of serious crime and to develop local networking as well as networking on a central level. It is recommended that for certain categories of offenses a coherent system of preventive and penal measures should be created. 23 references
