During 1991, the Commission staff participated in conferences, training sessions, and other activities designed to provide information services and to keep abreast of developments in the State's criminal justice system. Commission staff lectured and made presentations at law enforcement training seminars and at meetings of State and local agencies, joined various criminal justice advisory groups, and cooperated with other State agencies. This report summarizes formal Crime Commission studies on topics including ritual crime, recidivism and women's correctional issues, offender reimbursement to local jails, State proposals for drug-free schools, the transportation of mentally ill persons, and the release of information on juvenile felons. The two formal reports presented to the Commission in 1991 dealt with violent crime and worker safety in convenience stores and a plan for the provision of special education services in local jails. Legislation proposed by the Commission during the 1992 legislative session is outlined. 2 appendixes
