Intended for use by clinicians, caseworkers, probation officers, and residential care providers, these guidelines and forms are intended to centralize data and provide structure, to strengthen and standardize reporting, and to enhance the interviewing process with adolescent sexual offenders and their parents.
Abstract
The information reported may support a psychosexual report, a dispositional court report, goal setting for treatment, and assessments of progress in sex offender treatment. The manual guides the investigator through extensive questioning. It is suggested that the initial service provider complete one packet for each client and copy it fully for transfer to the next primary treatment provider, who will enter additional information as the youth progresses. Individual sections explain how to monitor nonverbal cues and list techniques to use or avoid. The forms are intended to collect information regarding the youth, the family, delinquency background, sexual offenses, posttrauma issues, social skills, additional risk areas, issues related to relapse prevention and community protection, and other topics. Appended forms, list of addresses of assessment resources, typology of adolescent sex offenders, and related materials
