The chapters focus on comprehensive programs operated from outside the court system; legislatively established and State-funded court programs; rural programs, civil protection order and criminal prosecution order programs; offender accountability programs; and program efforts which feature coordinating councils, legislation, and policy development. Each program is described through subsections incorporating vital statistics, narrative descriptions, details on staffing and volunteers, funding information, special features, and issues and concerns. Programs in Minnesota, Maryland, Ohio, Colorado, Hawaii, Connecticut, Iowa, Nevada, Washington, California, and Pennsylvania are noted.
