Abstract
Conference participants discussed Federal efforts related to organized crime, drugs, law enforcement needs, violent crime and police presence, rehabilitation, and crime costs. Issues of significance in 1969 were addressed, including bail release, campus disorders, technology and law enforcement, and police use of chemical agents. Police management issues covered by participants dealt with police department consolidation, unionization, leadership, public relations, and industrial security. International police cooperation was examined with respect to fraud and theft prevention and drug trafficking. Conference reports covered administrative matters, arson, auto theft, criminal law and procedures, crime prevention, emergency planning, highway safety, international relations, organized crime, public relations and mass communications, and uniform crime records. An appendix contains information on IACP personnel and procedures.
