These six papers focus on county and State criminal justice policies and initiatives related to probation officer, shock incarceration, performance reward funding, acupuncture in outpatient drug treatment, drug policy, and intensive probation.
Abstract
Individual papers examine the contrast between Statutory requirements and probation officers' perceptions of their roles, the attitudinal change of participants in boot camps in Texas, and intergovernmental relations and the use of performance reward funding in the Texas criminal justice system. Other papers examine the effectiveness of acupuncture in an outpatient drug treatment program, drug policymaking in Kentucky and its relationship to Federal policy, and the outcomes of intensive probation and prison in Indiana.
