This book addresses the fact that alcoholism and other drug addictions affect most people with AIDS and AIDS-related conditions (ARC) as well as those individuals who work with people with AIDS.
Abstract
A collection of true stories accompanies the message that without some form of recovery from alcoholism and other drug addictions it is difficult to recover from AIDS. These true stories, based on tape-recorded interviews, emphasize that recovery starts once an individual begins to tell her or his story. A preliminary section focusing on AIDS and addiction presents factual information, discusses the realities of the illness and the response of others, and suggests approaches for living with AIDS and alcoholism.
