Panel members are Judge Susan Steingass, chair of the Wisconsin Equal Justice Task Force; Judge Shelley Gaylord, chair of the Task Force's Subcommittee on Family law; James Novak, co-founder of both the Madison Men's Organization and Wisconsin Fathers for Equal Justice; and James Luscher, board member of Wisconsin Fathers for Equal Justice and current president of the Madison Men's Organization. The format for the panel discussion is to have each member of the panel address four questions asked by the moderator. There is no interactive discussion among the panel members. Each panel member is asked to identify three issues of gender bias (male or female discrimination) in the court system, suggest legislative responses to various issues of gender bias, identify court discrimination issues specific to males and females, and identify family law issues that represent gender bias. Some of the specific gender issues discussed are gender discrimination in the enforcement of prostitution laws, the awarding of child custody, prosecution and sentencing, child support accountability for both custodial and noncustodial parents, and sexual harassment victimization and standards.
