This thesis is grounded in the statement of Adrian van Kaam: "The work of reformation starts in the heart by means of the human spirit; it is the reclamation of the soul, via the spirit, of its innermost form direction." The author describes the current paradigm shift from the Newtonian model of what it means to be human to the full-field understanding of human being and its mandate for more formative learning processes. Methods and processes conducive to formative education that are discussed here include reflective and experiential education, dialogical, and narrative in form. Finally, formative correctional education must be globally inclusive to allow humans to reach their full potential. 30 references
