The first table presents figures on the average daily prison population by type of commitment. Figures are shown for the total population, the male inmates (felons, civil narcotic addicts, youth authority, and other), and the female inmates. Totals are shown for institutions, reception centers, camps, community-based facilities, and State hospitals. The second and third tables present the statistics by institution, separately for men and women.
