The 1992 U.S. Marine Corps Crime Statistics Annual Report consolidates crime statistics reported by individual installations; crimes committed by U.S. Marines on the installations of other military services and in the civilian community are not included.
Abstract
The statistics are grouped according to index crimes, violent crimes, crimes against property, drug-related offenses, and driving violations related to alcohol abuse. Index crimes include on-base homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary/housebreaking, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. Violent crimes include homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Property crimes encompass burglary/housebreaking, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. On-base drug-related offenses involve possession and trafficking incidents for both dangerous drugs and marijuana. Driving while intoxicated offenses represent all offenses in which the subject registers a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.10 percent or higher and individuals who refuse to take a BAC test.
