This report presents monthly statistics from January 1993 to January 1994 for California inmate and parole populations and movements.
Abstract
At the end of January 1993, the total male institutional population was 102,496; it increased to 112,849 by the end of January 1994. The female inmate population at the end of January 1993 was 6,696; it increased by 834 inmates to 7,530 by the end of January 1994. The monthly average of admissions was 10,061, and the monthly average released was 9,246. The institutional population is broken down by the number of felons, civil narcotic addicts, Youth Authority, County Diagnostic, Safekeepers, and other State/Federal categories. Admissions are shown by number of felons, civil narcotic addicts, and parole returns. Information on parole population and movements includes population and movement numbers by commitment type, a movement summary, and monthly movement detail.
