This report describes coordination and cooperation in crime prevention and criminal justice policies within the United Nations system and with intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations during the period between November 1992 and November 1993.
Abstract
The report highlights the coordination of activities between the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Branch and the UN International Drug Control Program, particularly in the areas of joint technical assistance and technical cooperation projects. The World Conference on Human Rights, held during this period, called upon the United Nations system to intensify cooperation in the realm of human rights. During this period, the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Branch sponsored projects, international meetings, conferences, training courses, and seminars, which ensured a better utilization of resources in these various crime prevention efforts. This report outlines specific cooperation and coordination activities conducted between this Branch and other entities of the UN Secretariat, and between the Branch and the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute and the regional institutes affiliated with the UN crime prevention and criminal justice program.
