Abstract
The first section presents some questions the person can ask a qualified health care provider. The pamphlet offers suggestions about discussing one's HIV status with sex partners, IV needle-sharing partners, family, and friends. Some recommendations for daily health care include getting immunizations, avoiding exposure to infection, exercising regularly, eating healthy foods, and getting enough sleep. The pamphlet addresses testing and treatment issues and mentions other diseases for which HIV-positive persons are at risk. Other sections discuss pregnancy and family planning, support from friends and social service agencies, and additional resources.
