The 20th annual report on the Georgia court system, covering fiscal year 1993, contains caseload data for appellate and major trial courts and narrative information on court activities.
Abstract
Judicial activities in fiscal year 1993 focused on alternative dispute resolution, future issues affecting Georgia's court system, court automation, gender equality, racial and ethnic fairness, and resource allocation. Cases filed in the Supreme Court totaled 1,781 in 1991 and 1,784 in 1992. Cases disposed of totaled 1,959 in 1991 and 1,630 in 1992. Cases filed in the Court of Appeals numbered 3,145 in 1991 and 3,412 in 1992. Cases disposed of by the Court of Appeals totaled 2,440 in 1991 and 3,441 in 1992. Detailed data are also provided on Superior Court, Juvenile Court, Probate Court, and Magistrate Court caseloads. A description of judicial agencies in Georgia is presented, as well as information on judicial education and training initiatives and activities of Georgia's Sentence Review Panel.
