This training manual is designed as a comprehensive curriculum for judges on the major legal and other issues in child sexual abuse legal proceedings.
Abstract
The first section discusses and provides practical guidance on issues relating to adult education, with a particular emphasis on designing training programs for judges. The next section presents a model agenda, including a sample program for organizations or judicial educators developing one or more presentations on child sexual abuse cases and issues. The third major section includes detailed outlines for presentations on major substantive areas involving legal action related to child sexual abuse. These include the nature and effects of child sexual abuse, children as witnesses, legal actions, evidentiary issues, disposition and treatment, and methods of reducing trauma to the child victim from the legal system. The final section contains information on references, child sexual abuse expert trainers, child sexual abuse conferences, and article reprints. 4 appendixes
