Abstract
Female prisoners of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, write of the disrespect for women's rights, rehabilitation and rehabilitative work, and sentence remittance, among other subjects. They also request permission to start a Female Prisoners' Commission to mediate with officials. There are several letters from inmates of Chowchilla Women's Prison concerning medical treatment for women inmates and drugging of California women prisoners. There are letters from women incarcerated in Canada and a letter of response from a woman who works for the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies, a national voluntary women's organization whose focus is women who come into conflict with the law.
