Abstract
In the past 3 years, the flood of amendments and case law interpretations of the Federal sentencing guidelines has continued unabated. This newly expanded Third Edition reflects these changes in guideline law. Three chapters have been completely rewritten, and all other chapters contain discussion of the new amendments and hundreds of new case law decisions. In addition to these changes, the new edition continues the authors' efforts to track the Sentencing Commission's most recent work product. The edition contains the complete copy of the U.S. Sentencing Commission Sentencing Guidelines Manual, effective November 1, 1992, as well as the proposed amendments to the guidelines, some of which may take effect on November 1, 1993. The edition also continues to update the appendixes with sources that may be relevant to guideline interpretation. The edition includes a General Accounting Office report on the guidelines issued in 1992, the 1991 Annual Report of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and an updated appendix that contains local district court and court of appeals rules and orders pertaining to guideline sentencing and presentence reports. Also included are an updated index and table of cases
