This report contains statistical data on the average daily inmate population in California prisons for calendar year 1993.
Abstract
The average daily inmate population for the year totaled 114,909--107,730 men and 7,179 women. Of the 107,730 men, 5,122 were in community-based facilities, 15,770 were in Level I institutions, 29,004 were in Level II institutions, 39,859 were in Level III institutions, and 17,975 were in Level IV institutions. Detailed data are tabulated on the average daily inmate population by institution for male and female facilities and by each quarter of calendar year 1993.
