Abstract
The introductory section analyzes reported crime statistics in 1992 in their relation to the criminal trends of the past 10 years. A special section is devoted to violent crime, and an explanatory section specifies principal concepts and statistical sources. The tables section opens with general crime overviews; detailed tables categorize reported crime and cleared cases by offense, crime scene, and offenses per 100,000 inhabitants. Convicted offenders are classified according to offense type, gender, municipality of residence, age, and sentence imposed. Several tables present convictions according to length of sentence and appropriate article of the Danish criminal code. The following section is devoted to prison statistics: intake in 1992, average number of inmates, and reason for intake. The final section covers court cases and case flow in the lower and High courts of Denmark. The appendix relates the variables used in the tables to sections of the Danish criminal code.
