Based on a consensus process involving drug treatment professionals, criminal justice personnel, and representatives of other agencies, this volume presents information about the management and treatment of offenders with alcohol and other drug problems through the use of intermediate sanctions that include an alcohol or other drug treatment component.
Abstract
The volume includes specific recommendations for use by individuals and agencies in the alcohol and other drug treatment and criminal justice systems to develop programs and coordinate services. Individual sections provide information about the role of intermediate sanctions, the importance and role of collaboration, conflicts and solutions related to integrating treatment with intermediate sanctions, and legal and ethical issues. Information is also provided regarding the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of these programs.
