Abstract
The National Campaign to Reduce Youth Violence provides telecommunication tools and other support to community organizations working to reduce youth violence, showcases successful violence prevention programs, and promotes youth involvement in violence reduction. The guide focuses on community-based and school-based programs that target youth violence, curriculums that reduce youth violence, steps involved in community-based violence reduction programs, and violence prevention resources. Details are provided on the Community Youth Gang Services Project in Los Angeles; the Resolving Conflict Creatively Program designed for use nationally in grades kindergarten through 12; the Omega Boys Club in San Francisco; the Teen Dating Violence Project in Austin, Texas; and educational programs designed to prevent or reduce violence and resolve conflicts. A framework for action is outlined to involve youth and communities in violence prevention, and violence prevention initiatives and resources are listed.
