Abstract
Information on judicial revenues and expenditures is followed by an overview of the Maryland judicial system. Information on judicial administration addresses the work of the Administrative Office of the Courts, education and training, judicial information systems, circuit court management services, fiscal management and procurement, judicial personnel services, sentencing guidelines, the district court, and judge assignments. Profiles of court-related units include the Board of Law Examiners, Rules Committee, the Maryland State Law Library, the Attorney Grievance Commission, and the Clients' Security Trust Fund. Information on judicial conferences is followed by data on the appointment, discipline, and removal of judges. State 1993 legislation that affects the courts is summarized. Tabular data on each type of court address cases filed and terminated, dispositions, case time intervals, pending cases, and a 5-year comparative table. The courts addressed are the court of appeals, court of special appeals, circuit court, civil cases, criminal cases, juvenile cases, and district court.
