Abstract
The excerpts from the Alaska Statutes Annotated include Chapter 62, Criminal Justice Information Systems Security and Privacy, which covers regulations, collection and security of intelligence information, annual reports, data storage, access and use, updating, and purging, interstate systems for the exchange of criminal justice information, and civil and criminal remedies. This document also contains Part 3, Article 1, of the Alaska Regulations, which pertains to the collection and storage of criminal justice information, as well as an opinion from the State Attorney General regarding the operation of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) in a way that meets legitimate law enforcement interests while respecting reasonable expectations of individual privacy.
