This document contains transcripts of Hearings before the Committee on the Judiciary, US Senate, 101st Congress, on the nominations of Dr. William J. Bennett to be Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Reggie B. Walton to be Associate Director, and Stanley E. Morris to be Deputy Director for Supply Reduction.
Abstract
These hearings were held on March 1 and 2, June 6, and September 20, 1989. The transcripts include Opening Statements by relevant Senators, Testimony of Nominees, Additional Submissions, and Witnesses' Testimony. Included among the additional submissions are: (1) The National Drug Strategy and Implementation Plans (1988); (2) Sources of Assistance; (3) Information Available; and (4) Letter from the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association. Witnesses included representatives from: (1) National Fraternal Order of Police; (2) International Association of Chiefs of Police; (3) National District Attorneys Association; (4) National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors; and (5) Alcohol and Drug Problems Association. Prepared statements were submitted by the National Democratic Policy Committee and by Jamaica Community Adolescent Programs, Inc.
