This paper analyzes the effects of mafia-type criminality in Eastern Europe, with emphasis on the criminals of Chechnya.
Abstract
As the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the iron curtain collapsed, criminal groups have started to migrate from Eastern Europe to the West. The Eastern European mafia is related to its Western counterparts by smuggling. The author is a police major at the Police Academy. Footnotes (Publisher abstract modified)
