The introductory section discusses the difficulties that law enforcement faces in investigating child exploitation, proposed changes in the law enforcement response, problems in defining what constitutes sexual exploitation, and societal attitudes toward this type of crime. The first three chapters discuss the magnitude and scope of child sexual exploitation in the U.S., describe characteristics of victims and offenders, and outline modus operandi characteristics. Two subsequent chapters focus on child pornography and child molestation. The book explores interview techniques to be used with suspected offenders and discusses various aspects of search warrants.
