NCJ Number
156543
Date Published
1994
Length
84 pages
Annotation
Data are compiled on index crimes in Colorado and on property stolen and recovered, arson, domestic violence, arrests, law enforcement officers assaulted, and homicide.
Abstract
The data are based on 153 law enforcement agencies which reported crime statistics to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation during 1994. Index crime statistics are tabulated for murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, theft, and motor vehicle theft. These statistics indicate that an index crime is committed in Colorado every 3 minutes and that a property crime is committed every 3.3 minutes. Crime trends are evaluated for the 1985-1994 period, and crime statistics are tabulated by offense type and jurisdiction. Tables and figures
