The Firefly low-light combat sight was devised to be used with a police shotgun by taking advantage of the manner in which a shotgun is designed to be used.
Abstract
The result of the police use of the Firefly is a substantial and critical increase in the relevant information available, as well as enhanced confidence, speed, and accuracy, which allow for the use of single projectiles in the shotgun. The Firefly design deals with the traditional problems of delivering multiple projectiles in order to hit a target, and dealing with recoil. The Firefly sight adds an accuracy dimension to law enforcement shotgun use that, in combination with developments in ammunition, gives increased versatility to the law enforcement use of this weapon.
