Abstract
The introductory chapter covers substantive criminal law, crime definitions, functions of criminal law, offense classification, and procedural issues. Subsequent chapters deal with actus reus, mens rea, negligence and strict liability, capacity and incapacitating conditions, and general defenses. Other chapters focus on parties to crime, inchoate offenses, homicide, nonfatal offenses against the person, offenses under England's Theft Acts of 1968 and 1978, offenses involving deception, and criminal damage.
