This report presents statistics on California inmate populations, parole populations, and changes in July 1995 and each month during the previous year.
Abstract
The total inmate population was 131,590 in July 1995, including 122,732 males and 8,858 females. A total of 11,078 inmates were admitted and 10,842 were released during the month. The State had a total of 92,598 parolees, including 84,070 male parolees and 8,528 female parolees. The State had a total of 10,556 new parolees and released 9,363 offenders from parole during the month. The report also presents racial and ethnic data on institutional and parole populations.
