Abstract
Individual sections explain how to obtain support, determine the scale of operation, select a management structure, form a steering group, appoint a coordinator, determine costs, generate commitment, and lead the partnership. Additional sections focus on defining the problem, deciding what to do, implementing the program, assessing what has been achieved, managing projects, and developing strategies. Program content is also discussed, including displacing crime, preventing revictimization, managing risks, and preventing crime through such approaches as strengthening families and revitalizing communities. The final sections describe crime prevention in the home, high- crime residential areas, in public and private transportation, schools, and shopping centers.
