This catalog describes data collections that have been processed and archived by the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) within the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research.
Abstract

The central mission of the NACJD is to facilitate and encourage research in the criminal justice field by sharing data resources. Specific goals include providing computer-readable data for the quantitative study of crime and the criminal justice system through the development of a central data archive, supplying technical assistance in the selection of data collections and computer hardware and software for data analysis, and training in quantitative methods of social science research to facilitate secondary analysis of criminal justice data. The NACJD catalog includes descriptions of data collections relevant to criminal justice research. The collections are organized by topics that include the criminal justice system, attitude surveys, community studies, adult and juvenile corrections, court case processing, crime and delinquency, governmental response to crime, illegal corporate behavior, official statistics, police, victimization, and drug use and crime. An index of the data collections is provided.
